Meet Brianna Doyle, who earned a degree in Chemistry from É«É«¸£ÀûÉç in 2020 and currently works for .

What enticed you to choose ɫɫ¸£ÀûÉç for your degree?

I wanted to be able to continue dancing while also getting my degree in Chemistry. ɫɫ¸£ÀûÉç allowed me the option to continue my passion for dance while also being in a great STEM program. 

What stood out about your studies at ɫɫ¸£ÀûÉç?

Having a personal relationship with professors. Being able to go to them outside class and ask questions or seek guidance. Still to this day, I keep in touch with my professors. They wanted to see me succeed while I was in their class and now, they cheer me on and offer support in my professional career.

How did your ɫɫ¸£ÀûÉç degree help advance you in your career?

It helped me get into analytical chemistry. It’s hard to get a job as a chemist without a degree.

What is your favorite part about your job?

I love working with instrumentation. I love figuring out how things work.

What is something valuable you have learned during your career?

The people you meet and work with will come around again. It is a small world, and you will cross paths with people you know directly or by extension.

What advice would you give to others who are considering ɫɫ¸£ÀûÉç for their degree?

ɫɫ¸£ÀûÉç’s small size is an advantage since you really get special attention from your teachers. They want to help you succeed.

What is your favorite spot on your ɫɫ¸£ÀûÉç campus?

I loved the rose gardens next to the science building and the study rooms in there.

What has your life journey looked like?

I grew up in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, and currently live in St. Louis, Missouri.

What was your first job, and what do you remember most about it?

I was an analytical chemist. I remember applying all the knowledge I learned to real-world applications.

How do you spend your free time?

I teach tap dance classes. I also do aerial dancing. I love to travel and mountain bike. My goal is to visit all 50 states and bike/mountain bike in each. So far, I’ve done about seven or so states.
